What is BIMI?

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) displays your verified brand logo next to authenticated emails in supporting clients (Gmail, Apple Mail, Yahoo). It's both a trust signal and a deliverability nudge — but it only works on top of strong email authentication.

Requirements

  • A DMARC policy of p=quarantine or p=reject (BIMI won't show at p=none).
  • A square SVG logo (SVG Tiny PS) hosted over HTTPS, referenced with l=.
  • For Gmail/Apple, a VMC (Verified Mark Certificate), referenced with a=.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a VMC?

Gmail and Apple Mail require a VMC (a paid certificate proving you own the trademark). Some other clients display BIMI from just the SVG logo.

Why isn't my logo showing?

Most often DMARC isn't at quarantine/reject yet, the logo isn't valid SVG Tiny PS, or the VMC is missing/expired.

Where does the BIMI record go?

As a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com (the selector is usually 'default').
